Q & A
Do you offer sliding scale sessions?
I really hate capitalism. Every tier I offer is sliding scale, for all individuals. If you pay at the lower end of a tier, you get the minimum number of edits for that tier. If you pay at the high end of a tier, you get the maximum edits for that tier. For example, if you book “The Moss” Package and pay $350, you will receive 35 hand edited and lightly retouched images. If you book “The Moss” and pay $300, you’ll receive 20 edits.
How much does it cost to book?
Check out my rates page for details! Most sessions require a $100 non-refundable deposit to book (rest of payment due day of session. I have venmo, paypal, zelle, and accept cash + checks) I can make an invoice if needed.
Do you do TFP or collabs? Trades?
If I am ever doing a collab or model call, I will post about it on my instagram. We can chat about trades- curly hairstylist, tattoos, typewriter maintenance, witchy things, herbal nerd stuff, gift cards/credit/tabs at local businesses…I’m sure there’s more I’d be open to. Small business for small business baby!
How do I book?
Visit my contact page or Email me! I plan to get a scheduling system soon to make booking simpler.
Can I bring someone with me?
You can include up to one person in your photo shoot for no additional fee. You can also bring a pal with you for moral support or safety. If your guest is willing to wear a mask (if they are not being photographed), it is appreciated. I charge $25 per additional person after 2 people, if all are being photographed.
Is posing/modeling experience a requirement to book?
Nope! I think it can certainly be fun to do shoots with performers and people who have experience in front of the lens, but I am comfortable working with people who have no experience in front of a camera too. I am not super “posey”, but I do direct and guide you as we flow through taking pictures together.
Do you provide any accommodations?
Due to my own health reasons, I typically avoid flash and strobe-like lighting situations. I bring air purifiers and spare masks to my sessions, as well as wearing a kn95 or n95 myself in most situations. I am willing to do my best to accommodate you however you may need. We can communicate in whatever way you prefer before and after your session. I will also check in on you a lot as we take photos. I am disabled myself and you’ll see me taking breaks often.
Is it required to have a theme or concept to book?
It is not required, but I love hearing a vision and bringing it to life. We can also chat a bit and figure out what vibe/theme you’re looking for and I can let you know some ideas that I come up with.
Who do you work with?
I’d say drag and burlesque performers, SWers, college graduates, queer lovers, and pregnant folks are my most frequently booked clients. If we shoot work that is sexual in nature, I’ll ask to verify your age. I work with a lot of queer and trans people and have a soft spot for shooting intimate queer lovers and kink. I am open to sessions outside of my typical scope, just send me an email and we can see if we are a good fit! If for whatever reason we are not a good match, I can refer you to a friend or colleague who is!
What do you shoot? What don’t you shoot?
DO: Kink, boudoir, intimate portraits, products, college senior graduate portraits, maternity/pregnancy, couples and lovers (queer and polyam friendly), drag and burlesque performers and shows, SWers, breastfeeding sessions, pets, creative/conceptual portraits & more. I do shoot XXX content as well. These are my most booked. I do not currently shoot weddings or births. If you want to work with me and aren’t sure if I offer the session you’re looking for, send me an email!
Are you sex and kink positive? Do you shoot XXX content?
Yes! I will verify your age for XXX content. I work with SWers and folks in the industry, I also work with a lot of people who just have a kinky lifestyle.
Where do your sessions take place?
Here, there, and everywhere in Denton, Texas. My favorite places to shoot are in clients’ homes or their friends’ spaces, outdoor spaces around Denton, or my backyard. I also have a small home studio available. Depending on the type of session, a set build/cleaning fee may have to be added to your session total. Check out my locations page for more details!
Will you retouch my images?
I will hand edit and lightly retouch your photos. I remove things like blemishes and bruises, but I do not change body shapes, textures, or sizes. I don’t remove cellulite and I try very hard to edit images in ways that show true light and true skin tones.
How long does it take to get my final gallery?
Unless otherwise stated, I deliver final galleries within 2-3 weeks of the day your session took place. I often send out sneak peeks as well. For an additional fee of $200, I can do a rush edit of your gallery and deliver your images within 24-48 hours.
Can I post my photos to social media? OnlyFans? Fansly? X/Twitter? XXX Content sites? Patreon? Etc.
Yes, yes, & yes. When possible, just tag me and I ask that you do not edit the images from your gallery (unless you have to censor them). But I love seeing them on your sites!
What is your policy on posting photos from sessions?
Many people give consent for their full galleries to be shared, but I’ve also had clients that did not consent to any images being shared. There are some people who prefer I ask them on a case by case basis if it is okay to post a certain photo and that works for me! It is easy for me to take “anonymous” type photos too. I will always remove a photo if you are not comfortable with it, and I often remove images before people even ask. If someone transitions and/or changes their name, I do my best to remove old content and update names. I’ve removed content of people who have broken up/divorced, gone through major surgeries, quit performing in a certain field…just ask and I’ll work with ya.
Do you offer videography?
You can add a 60 second edited clip to any session for $100. We can discuss XXX type sessions, I consider myself to be most skilled at stills/photography, but am open to discussing!
Your pricing seems different than other local boudoir options, why?
Again, fuck capitalism. We’re all out here just doing what works best for us. Many boudoir photographers offer a very luxurious VIP experience that comes with a lot of add-ons, glam, and products post shoot. Their services are great and I highly recommend them, I just am not a VIP/luxury experience boudoir photographer right now. I will likely eliminate my lowest tier and raise my rates soon, but right now I am still getting used to trying to offer photo sessions full time again. I do not offer add-ons, glam, or products BUT I can definitely recommend hair and makeup artists if you need them. I also ask that clients arrive “photo ready” to their sessions; You do not need fancy hair or makeup to work with me, but if you plan to get your hair/makeup done, please do so before your session and arrive “photo ready” (besides your outfit).
Can I make prints of photos from my final gallery?
Absolutely. Several performers have gotten prints made via third party printers, and many sell them at their burlesque and drag shows. A few SW clients have sent prints to fans. It is super simple to download your final high-resolution gallery. I plan to open a print shop that will allow you to purchase prints from your session directly from your gallery.
Do you sell art or prints of your photography?
Yes! Visit my print shop!!!!
I’m a performer, can I use my photos for flyers and show promotions?
100% yes. Please tag me/give me credit when possible. Tag me in the comments if the promoter/venue won’t tag photographers.
Do I own my final gallery?
I technically own the images. I can sell the rights to you, email to discuss. Due to Flesh & Flora Photography owning the images, clients cannot use the photos for reproduction without consent. (That does not mean clients cannot download and buy prints and it does not prevent clients from sharing or selling images on content sites) But, to have your images included in a magazine, book, zine, publication, to be used as inspiration or recreation in a painting commission, used in commercial ads…we will have to discuss. If you aren’t sure, email me. Thank you!
Do you store my images?
Temporarily. I will store and resend your gallery for free, for up to 6 months. If you request a gallery resend over 6 months after your session, it will cost $100. I do not guarantee your images past one year from your session date and I highly recommend downloading your full gallery into multiple locations and onto a USB to ensure your images are safe.
